Following a whole day of cafe-hopping and lots of eating, it was time for a nice massage to wind down. My husband, our friends and I made a prior reservation here the moment we arrived at Harbour Bay ferry terminal as this outlet was conveniently located in the adjacent Bayfront shopping mall. Eska Wellness has a few outlets across the island but this was the newest at the time of our visit and one of the larger ones as well. Besides massages, they also offer manicures, pedicures, facials, salon and waxing services. My friend purchased credits with the spa, which gave us a further 20% discount approximately.

- Inclusions:
- 60-minute aromatherapy touch massage for 6
- Spent: IDR1,452,000
The reception area and spaces had a calming aesthetic, with wooden elements and accents of green. It generally looked hygienic and inviting. Before we began our massage, I sort of expected a foot bath as a prelude but alas, that didn’t materialize. I was also hoping to be able to select my massage oil scent from some options but that didn’t happen either.

Heading into the treatment room, what was surprising was that their massage beds were partitioned with mere curtains instead of walls, which I wasn’t quite used to. Oddly enough, men were given disposable boxers while women were simply instructed to keep their own underwear on (I couldn’t figure out the rationale for this difference).
Anyway, my masseuse adhered really well to my requests (despite the language barrier that required her colleague to translate what I was saying). She kept to my preferred pressure throughout the massage, unlike some others who might revert to their default strength mode after some time. She also avoided the parts which I indicated for her to do so and focused more on my back and shoulders as requested. Our friends who had massages with a deeper pressure said that their masseuses were able to deliver as well.

Once we were done and dressed, we made our way back to the reception area for a cup of ginger tea. This tasted super intense though, so I didn’t finish it heh.

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. I thought that for the price we paid, it was pretty decent quality all round – clean and modern spaces, competent masseuses, friendly service. The only things that didn’t quite hit the mark were the lack of private treatment rooms, as well as the minor omission of a foot bath and the choice of massage oil scents. Other than that, they delivered their core business well and it was a good experience with this brand (:
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
