This spa brand has over 40 outlets not just in Bangkok but across other cities in Thailand as well. Expanding prolifically since their first outlet at Chiang Mai night bazaar back in 1998, this boutique day spa specializes in Thai massage techniques and is well-known for serving guests a delicious mango sticky rice snack after their treatments.
Having heard much about this brand, I thought to give it a try since Trip.com was selling THB1000 Let’s Relax Spa e-vouchers at a discounted price. I eventually purchased 4 e-vouchers to offset the price of the Body & Soul Package for my husband and I. Making a reservation was easy via the email provided on their website as they replied quite promptly and helped us to create a manual booking given that we were using a combination of e-vouchers and cash.

- Inclusions:
- 120-minute Body & Soul package for 2
- Spent: SGD$117.08 (THB4000 e-vouchers) + THB600
After checking in to Siam Kempinski Hotel, we made our way to Siam Square One for some spa pampering time! Alas, we hit a bit of a snag when redeeming the e-vouchers as the staff on duty that day wasn’t familiar with the process. Once that was figured out, we were brought some tea and cold towels, and had our shoes changed out to bedroom slippers. The Body & Soul Package entailed a choice of a 60-minute body scrub or body wrap (I went for the scrub while my husband opted for the wrap), followed by a 60-minute aromatherapy oil massage. As such, we got to choose our preferred massage oil and body scrub or wrap options.

I thought we would start off with a foot bath but instead, we were immediately ushered into the treatment room and instructed to take a shower (this was the first time it felt mandatory to do so). Then, we were made to wait for about another 10 minutes or so without any explanation whatsoever. The staff simply came into the room saying “5 more minutes” and zipped off.
Anyway, the body scrub and wrap finally commenced on nicely heated massage beds in a very well-maintained and hygienic environment. However, my masseuse initially used a lot of strength while scrubbing so it felt like having sandpaper rubbed on my skin. Highly unpleasant, as you can imagine. As per my request, she used less strength for both the scrub and the massage later. Concluding the first 60 minutes, we were asked to take another shower to wash off the treatment products while they brought us some ginger tea.
We then moved on to the massage portion. Unfortunately, towards the end when my masseuse sat me up, it was as if she vented all her pent-up energy she’d been withholding this whole time and really went for my knots in full force. I felt pretty sore for days ): On the flipside, my husband, who prefers this type of strong pressure for massages, didn’t feel his massage was effective.

Returning to the reception area, the staff brought us tea and their signature mango sticky rice to enjoy. This was probably the highlight of my experience here as the mango sticky rice tasted divine. Even my husband, who doesn’t usually eat mango, delightedly finished the whole thing.

My overall rating of the experience: 3 out of 5 stars. A very shaky start we had here – the reception staff not knowing how to redeem our e-vouchers, the omission of a foot bath prior to our treatment and having to wait around aimlessly for 10 minutes without any rationale provided. The body scrub and massage itself was very mediocre, with one too many moments of discomfort given how much pressure my masseuse applied. On the other hand, it seemed my husband’s masseuse didn’t use enough pressure as he felt rather indifferent after his massage. It was a pity as the masseuses and staff were generally polite and friendly, but lacked the necessary skills to execute their roles well, at least in this experience of ours. The environment and linen were clean and hygienic though, and the mango sticky rice was super yummy.
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
