Many years ago when I visited Bangkok, I recall dining at one of the After You Dessert outlets with my friends and it left us with a good impression. Having read recent rave reviews online and hearing my colleague recommend it too (she just came back from Bangkok at that time), I put it on the itinerary once again.
Since my husband and I were staying at Siam Kempinski Hotel for this trip, we intended to try the outlet at Siam Paragon, which was right next to our hotel. Alas, when we arrived, there were at least 20 people in the queue, no way we were waiting that long for dessert. Completely by chance on a separate day, we spotted this outlet at Centralworld that didn’t have a queue at all! We finally got to sample the fare here (:

- Our order:
- Strawberry crumble (185)
- Baby shibuya honey toast (195)
- Spent: THB380
A relatively compact outlet, we sat at the corner away from the other tables for a tad more privacy. Shortly after we placed our order, the cafe started filling up and it did get quite noisy at certain points. Other than that, the ambience was actually pretty pleasant. Customers could help themselves to the complimentary cups of water (or very diluted tea?) from the dispensers.

My colleague highly recommended the strawberry crumble and it was truly divine for the first few bites – warm and soft with buttery crumble bites that melted in our mouths. However, it got a little too cloying after a while as it was basically sweet on sweet. This dish would probably benefit from having a contrasting flavour for better balance.
I loved that they sell their items in both regular and mini portions, the latter option presumably for customers who want to try a variety of offerings. As such, we got the baby version of the shibuya honey toast. This was moist, fluffy and a total treat. We could also adjust the sweetness based on how much honey we added to it.

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. The desserts we tried were really delicious and indulgent, though if you aren’t into intensely sweet stuff, you might want to consider bringing your friends or family to share the dishes. Prices here were fairly reasonable too. We would’ve ordered more baby portions of other items if we hadn’t done so much eating at Jodd Fairs Night Market earlier! This particular outlet at Centralworld is a little tight in terms of space and it became uncomfortably noisy when the cafe got crowded, so you might want to avoid the peak dining hours if you do visit this one.
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
