My husband came across this Turkish restaurant on one of his leisurely walks to the Patong Beach area from our accommodation and was intrigued enough to want to try it. As such, we headed here for a quiet supper after taking in the overwhelming sights and sounds of Bangla Road nearby. It is located on the ground floor of the Red Planet Phuket hotel.

- Our order:
- Tavuklu pide (THB220)
- Fresh young coconut juice (THB100)
- Hot Turkish coffee (THB65)
- Spent: THB385
We arrived at the restaurant midway through a soccer match with all but two very invested viewers in the indoor seating area. There were bar seats and outdoor seats as well but those were mostly empty that evening. Generally, it was a clean and comfortable environment that felt like a homey diner, and I quite enjoyed the peace and quiet. The staff were prompt in taking and serving our orders, although that was as far as our interactions went.

We ordered a Tavuklu pide to share, which was basically pita bread with chicken, cheese and mixed vegetables. Despite having eaten our fill earlier at Lard Yai Sunday Walking Street Market, the food was so good that we finished it all! It was crispy along the sides and hearty with warm, cheesy goodness in the middle.

My husband was bent on sampling the hot Turkish coffee, which was full-bodied, slightly bitter and very fragrant. I had fresh young coconut juice that had a hint of sweetness and was refreshing as always.

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. A clean and fuss-free dining experience, with a nice range of Turkish classics to choose from. The Tavuklu pide we had (which reminded me of pizza) was pure comfort food, just what we needed to round up our night (: Service was prompt and we didn’t have to wait very long for our order to be served. I was also very thankful that the restaurant was mostly empty at that hour so we could relish a quiet and leisurely meal after the hullabaloo at Bangla Road. The staff could afford to be more than perfunctorily polite though. Nevertheless, it is a venue I wouldn’t mind coming back to if we were ever in the vicinity again!
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
