Situated along the popular shopping streets of Orchard, X-Scap8 is an integrated indoor playground that combines thrilling activities with dining options and is suitable for people of all ages. There are different zones for the various activities:
– Infinity & Beyond High Elements (a 10-metre high elements obstacle course)
– X-Warrior Challenge (a Ninja Warrior inspired obstacle course)
– Smash Lab (yell and smash things in a soundproof concrete room)
– Lava Mayhem (basically a high-tech version of “the floor is lava” game)
– Retro Arcade Zone (old-school arcade games)
Klook was running a 1-for-1 promotion for a special Infinity & Beyond High Elements package that came with a free $5 food voucher and 5 arcade tokens. It sounded like a pretty good deal so here we are to check it out (:

- Inclusions:
- Admission tickets to Infinity & Beyond High Elements
- $5 F&B voucher
- 5 Retro Arcade Zone tokens
- Spent: SGD$38 (for 2 pax)
On the day itself, my husband and I came prepared in our covered shoes as instructed and started with the high elements course. We were given a disposable shower cap for hygiene purposes before donning our helmets (though I could still smell a bit of stale sweat emanating from it).
The staff then strapped us into our harnesses and gave us a safety briefing, informing us that we had 45 minutes for our session. We were then shown how to move our carabiners properly on the safety lines. You’re apparently allowed to bring your phone too but you’ll be provided with a waterproof sling case to ensure it doesn’t drop while you’re doing the course.

This course essentially comprises three storeys worth of obstacles so you can definitely expect to be exerting yourself. The hardest, most physically demanding obstacle would be what we affectionately called the “cheese boards”. It isn’t easy to grip or find a foothold on those wobbling boards so a lot of core strength is required. During our session, we saw many people give up and just walk across the supporting structure to get to the other side.
Ironically, the most anxiety-inducing obstacle for me was the skateboard on the first storey, probably due to the lack of perceived stability when I was pulling myself across. Do note that if you’re afraid of heights, this experience can be quite intimidating as it feels quite open without any safety nets. Additionally, if you’re doing the obstacles on the side closer to the glass windows, you’re at least 7 storeys above ground so don’t look down.
Throughout the session, the staff kept a close eye on us and were ready to support if we needed their help. They were really friendly and approachable too.

Once we completed the high elements, we headed over to the Retro Arcade Zone located just below the X-Warrior Challenge area. There weren’t a lot of game options available and I didn’t find this zone particularly appealing.
We started with the claw machines but quickly realized the claws merely caressed the plush toys and that there was zero chance of us grabbing anything. We then played a more kinaesthetic game involving throwing balls to knock down bottles, followed by an alien-shooting game.

After exploring the premises, we sat down at the dining area to have our late lunch. We managed to try more menu items than expected, thanks to the blessing of an additional $100 food voucher. As a result, we had a total of $110 to spend (our final damage was just shy of this at $103.40)!

First up was the mixed starters platter ($23+) of prawn paste chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, Korean fish strips and crispy fish skin. Although it consisted entirely of fried food, it wasn’t too greasy and was surprisingly delicious. The crispy fish skin even had pork floss on it too. I was torn between the Korean fish strips (more like cubes) and the prawn paste chicken wings for my favourite as they were both perfectly succulent and savoury.
Next was the mushroom aglio olio ($15+), which came piping hot and was full of garlicky goodness. We wiped the plate clean on this one!

A while later, our pan-seared salmon with mash and vegetables ($24+) arrived. The salmon was nicely medium rare in the centre. However, its skin was extremely salty so we ended up peeling it off and enjoying the rest. The creamy mash potato was yummy too.
I also ordered the dessert of the day ($4.50+) comprising three small cakes with varied flavours. The staff explained that I could choose which flavours I wanted to mix and match but I just went for one of each to try. These cakes tasted okay but weren’t particularly memorable. Thankfully the delicious hot ($8+) and iced ($8.50+) chocolate drinks more than made up for it (:
Since we had a little extra left to spend, we decided to take away two cookies and cream ice cream cups ($5.50+). Alas, we left them at our friend’s house later on so we didn’t actually get to try them for ourselves 😛

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. We enjoyed this novel experience of an indoor high elements obstacle course situated at such an accessible central location as Orchard Road. The course had a good variety of obstacles and was well-maintained, plus the staff were helpful and vigilant in spotting safety concerns. The food served here was also pretty good and decently priced for a dining establishment in town. We weren’t too thrilled about the limited selection of arcade game types so unless you’re really into such retro games, you wouldn’t be missing much by skipping this zone. With that said, there are other interesting activity zones that we didn’t check out during this visit so we might come back to try those if the right deal comes up!
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
