After checking out the Central Phuket Festival and Floresta shopping malls (which didn’t have much draw for us besides the festive decor), my husband suggested we go cafe hopping for a bit instead. He did a quick search on Google and found this cafe called Craftist near Old Phuket Town, a 7-minute drive away from the malls, to begin this spontaneous side quest.

- Our order:
- Sunrise Calling superfood smoothie (THB145)
- White choc mocha (THB105)
- Breakfast quesadillas with bacon (THB165)
- Spent: THB415
The cafe donned industrial grey and black interiors, exuding a cool grungy vibe. Alas, every table was occupied when we arrived (there weren’t many tables to begin with) so we initially had to sit on the high stools. Although they had a bar and outdoor section towards the back, there were huge flies buzzing about so that wasn’t ideal. Eventually we managed to move from the high stools to a regular table after some customers left the cafe.

I had the Sunrise Calling smoothie that was made of banana, mango, goji berries, ginger, lemon juice, turmeric, flax seeds and coconut cream (THB145). This was a delicious superfood drink that was mildly sweet and well-balanced without any overpowering tastes of ginger or turmeric.

My husband ordered the white choc mocha (THB105) and he found it quite strong but it tasted good overall. Customers can choose to change the milk to other plant-based options, with some options at an extra charge.

On the food menu (served between 9am and 5pm), there was a selection of sandwiches, pastas, tortillas and rice bowls. Their desserts looked absolutely tempting too, with a decent range of vegan and gluten choices.
As we were feeling a little peckish, we got the breakfast quesadillas (THB165) to share. This comes with the choice of protein (bacon, chicken or tofu), and is mixed in with cheddar cheese, omelette, mushroom, then served with sour cream, homemade tomato sauce and tomato salsa.
I actually didn’t know that breakfast quesadillas were different from regular quesadillas in that they include omelette as an ingredient, so I was taken by surprise on the first bite. It was pretty tasty and satisfying to munch into (my husband said he liked this version of quesadillas), just that it wasn’t quite what I expected 😛

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. I loved how the items we ordered were plated and presented in such an appealing manner, which made for great photos. And they tasted as good as they looked too! The menu does seem to cater for a fairly wide range of dietary preferences, with plenty of non-meat options to choose from. As for the ambience, I thought it was alright and the indoor spaces were clean. However, there wasn’t much seating space and the furniture wasn’t quite the sort to invite us to linger for longer. Also, the staff barely had any interactions with us except when we ordered and paid. With that said, I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the other items on the menu and it’s definitely a solid pick if I want to load up on superfoods!
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
