Comfee Cafe, located in the Old Phuket Town neighbourhood, was the last cafe my husband and I visited just before heading to the airport at the end of our trip. He found this spot on Google maps while we were grabbing a bite at Wan Fang Cafe nearby. On the menu, you can find all-day western brunch mains, pastries and desserts, as well as a wide range of beverages such as coffee, tea, smoothies, matcha, sodas, chocolate drinks and milk.

- Our order:
- Ham and cheese croissant (THB169)
- Chocolate mud cake (THB125)
- Hot horlicks (THB85)
- Iced chocolate mint (THB110)
- Spent: THB489
The interiors of the cafe donned a clean, minimalistic look (albeit a little plain) dotted with clusters of greenery. It had essentially two and a half storeys (including a mezzanine) of seating but there was less air-conditioning the further up we went. The roof area on level 3 was an open-air space, presumably for those who wanted to take a puff. When we first arrived here in the afternoon, it was almost at full occupancy on every level. After a brief wait, we managed to find a seat on level 1.

We ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a chocolate mud cake to share. The staff helped to warm the croissant up for us – this was delectably buttery and flaky. The cake reminded me of our homegrown Awfully Chocolate cake which I absolutely love! Its texture was airy and light with velvety chocolate layers in-between, plus it was just the right sweetness.
For our choice of beverages, my husband went for the hot horlicks, a familiar and comforting drink. I had the iced chocolate mint, which was a refreshing treat (the ice helped to balance the sweetness levels so I’m not sure if the hot version would be more cloying).

My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars. Although the cafe’s design wasn’t the most snazzy or contemporary, the food and drinks that we tried more than made up for it (: Our croissant and chocolate mud cake were delicious – if we hadn’t already had our lunch, I certainly would’ve ordered more. In terms of the ambience, it did feel cosy but I suspect I would’ve preferred sitting at level 2 (warmer tones) as opposed to level 1 (too white and bland). The staff was quite friendly in helping us navigate their extensive drinks menu as well. I wouldn’t mind returning to try out their all-day brunch mains and other desserts!
If this post helped you in some way and you’d like to buy me a coffee, I’d be incredibly grateful (:
